I found this book to be completely unexpected. I have read all the historical novels by this author and they have all been fun and delightful reads and even though this book had those elements as well, it was definitely more emotional than I was expecting.

This is a great friends to lovers story that was funny, heartwarming, romantic and overall a very enjoyable read. Ian and Samantha (Sam) meet during orientation when they are hired as teachers at Oak Hill High School a couple of years ago. They form a bond and soon become best friends, but they are both dating other people. But by the time they are both single at the same time, neither wanting to jeopardize their friendship by admitting how they really feel.
