From witty to pretty
WOW! There has been soo many good books this month starting the year off right.
Seek is a fast paced, action-packed and steamy romance, filled with unexpected surprises and great characters.
verall this book was ‘fantastic’ (a reference if you’ve read the book) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book was funny, emotional, entertaining, heartbreaking and heartwarming.
Curtis and Cassie brought out the best in each other, giving each other strength and honesty that gave them the confidence for a relationship.
The story was filled with romance but there was also a lot of time spent building a friendship and Sean’s healing. There was definite slow burn but when these two decide to be together though, it was epic.
Exes With Benefits is a second chance romance about a married couple where we meet Canaan Ford and Maggie Church.
This was a great second chance romance, filled with heartache, healing and suspense. Jeremy and Mira find love again after being apart for seventeen years.
This is the final book and overall it has been a great series filled with small-town charm, filled with swoon worthy men and strong female characters. This one is about Maisy and Hunter.
Natalia Rossi and Hunter Delucia meet at both of their best friends Anna and Decklan’s wedding, where she is the maid of honor and he is the best man.
This was filled with plenty of angst, slow burn and many twists that you had to keep reading. This is a great rockstar romance and one of my favourite of the genre.
This was a sweet read and I loved the influences of You’ve Got Mail as it is one of my favourite movies.
I read around a total of 235 books this year! This is a lot less than last year but still a lot by most standards. The books are in lose order but as I found it too difficult to rate them all. My favourite and biggest series I read this year was Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. All eight books should be shown but by showing the first book, I really mean the whole series.
Most of the books I read now are by my favourite and well established authors or authors I know well. However there have been some debut authors this year that have made my list. These authors are Davney Perry and Noel Branham. Both are amazing authors and have been a go to. Especially Perry as her Jamison Valley series has quickly become a favourite of the year.
Many of favourites have been continuations of my favourite series. This includes Ella Franks Temptation series, I’m sad to say goodbye to Tate and Logan but it has been an amazing journey. I also liked the Devil’s Wolves series by Carian Cole and the newest book by Beth Flynn was much anticipated. Aly Martinez always writes amazing and very emotional duets and Katy Regnery is great at retelling fairytales (so is Linda Kage). Emma Scott made me cry with all her books and so did Mia Sheridan.
I am working on reading all the books published by my favourite authors and this goal will continue into 2018. I read all of Brittainy C. Cherry’s books this year and of course they were all amazing.
Because choosing just 50 books was really hard, I also have 10 runners up that were also amazing reads. Overall 2017 has been an amazing year for books and I’m sure 2018 will be no different.
All my favourites this month have all came from much loved authors. It has been my goal where I read more of the books of my favourite authors- which has paid off as with great authors comes great books.
The nerdy saxophone player and the popular new girl share a special relationship and are united after many years apart.
A women climbs a mountain to say goodbye to her dead fiance and comes across a recluse who rescues her from danger- with added plot twists.
The conclusion of Tate and Logan’s story as they tie knot and deal with family life.
A man who goes blind and a violinist come together after tragedy to start living life again.

Kacey finds love and friendship after the loss of the one she loved.
A country singer who falls in love with a college student on the brink of his big break into fame and are reunited after many years apart.
A retelling of Rapunzel that has an Italian Prince fall for Bella, a hairstylist who saves the day for his sister.
There has been many good books this month, including finishing the Outlander series.
Written In My Own Heart’s Blood
The eighth book in the Outlander series and still as action packed. Claire and Jamie have reunited only to be drawn up in the goings on of the Revolution. There are many new romances also in this book which was lovely to see. Plus some interesting revelations for Roger and Brianna.
Darlene is starting over with her life and moves to San Francisco to hopefully peruse her dream of dancing. She meets Sawyer who lives in the same apartment building. Sawyer is finishing law school and studying for the bar all while raising his young daughter after her mother abandoned her.
Violet is acting as a tour guide to cover for her identical twin sister when the guy she spent one night with joins her on a tour.

Kieran has known right from the start that Marie is the girl for him, he only needs to convince her of that fact.
Jude used to be a cop and in a single night his entire life changed, after he was the first responder to a house fire. Rhion’s life also changed in a single night but she shares a special connection to Jude.
Kera has known since she was fifteen that she will marry the son of the mafia, but everything changes when she ends up marrying the henchman Deklan instead.
So many good books this month!
A continuation of Outlander. Jamie and Claire are making their home in North Carolina, meanwhile Brianna and Roger discover some news that force them to make a decision.
A great murder mystery/psychological thriller where ten people are invited to a remote island for a party and are murdered one by one.
A spin-off of the Nine Minutes trilogy that focuses on Bear and Christy and how some bad circumstances turns into an epic love.
The first part of an amazing duet.
The second part of a duet about two people who have experienced tragedy in their past that is unexpectedly connected.
A sweet, funny and delightful historical romance.

A wonderful story about two beautiful coming together overcome past and current struggles.

This has been a month of new books from some of my favourite series.
An epic romantic fantasy that is truly amazing. Kjell and Sasha are thrown together due to circumstances and develop feeling for the other, but not all is what is seams.
I love Tate and Logan and this continues their story four years on. It details their day to day life and shows their commitment to each other. It was another great edition to the series.
A fun and quirky read including a slow burn romance. After a first date gone wrong Matt and Marie become friends and eventually fall for each other.
I finally started the Outlander series and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Plus there were some other really good books this month including a brand new author.
This book is epic filled with romance, drama and adventure and Jamie and Claire have become one of my favourite couples. This is must read and absolutely amazing.
This continues the epic adventure of Outlander. New characters are introduced plus new and exciting revelations that make it impossible to stop reading the series.
This is an emotional and heartwarming retelling of The Little Mermaid. The story of a simple island girl falling for the rich Governor’s Son and how they eventually reconcile their differences.
This an amazing debut novel telling the story of a woman and her daughter starting a new life in a small town and meeting the town Sheriff who changes their world. This was a fantastic read and can’t wait to read whatever else the author writes.
This continues the story of Ace and Dylan and how they work with and support each other to achieve their own sort of happy ending.
