TV Shows I watched in January

These are the TV shows I watched in February!

I loved this. This was so easy to binge watch and I watched it all in one go, it was so addictive. It was quirky, unexpected and filled with dark humor.

I finally got around to watching Stranger Things and I definitely understand the hype. I don’t typically watch sci-fi or anything like this show but I did really enjoy it. But I will say I much preferred the character scenes rather than the big action scenes (especially in season 2) as this is what I prefer in general.

The acting was great and the child actors were especially great.

It follows the lives of some of the members of the women’s Land Army who are working at the Hoxley estate during World War II.

Set in the 1880’s America, it tells the story of a Western town that is almost entirely run by women as all the able-bodied men were killed in a mining disaster. They are having to protect themselves as a gang threatens to tear the place apart.

I really like the series and it was quite different than what I usually watch.

I have enjoyed watching this, even though there will only be one season. The production quality is great and the story enjoyable.

I’m not sure I how how exactly I feel about this. I always question the historical accuracy of these type of shows and I have seen other productions on Mary Queen of Scots.

This was okay and still very interesting.

The story details the effects of World War I in Ireland and then the following rebellion. I found the history very interesting and the story was good.

These are some of the TV shows that I have already started watching and am just catching up on new seasons!

I am loving the new episodes of Riverdale. I always get excited when I new episode comes on every week. There is the right amount of teen drama and mystery plus I like all the characters.

Season 6 part 2 was finally updated on Netflix. I love Suits as it deals with Mike trying to find a job after prison. Plus there is a way where he might be able to sit for the Bar, but only for something in exchange.

I love the new episodes and this show is a delight to watch. It’s quirky and fun but also deals with important issues like mental health.

This is a nice, easy show to watch and is perfect for something to watch in the background. Not a lot happens but it is still nice to watch.

The first season ended up being something that I wasn’t expecting and it wasn’t my favourite. But I wanted to see what the second season was like.

I liked the second season a lot more and overall it was enjoyable to watch. The group get back together to discover the truth of the real murderer as one of their own is the accused.

Favourite Books Read in January

WOW! There has been soo many good books this month starting the year off right.

Seek

Seek is a fast paced, action-packed and steamy romance, filled with unexpected surprises and great characters.

Look the Part

verall this book was ‘fantastic’ (a reference if you’ve read the book) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book was funny, emotional, entertaining, heartbreaking and heartwarming.

Turn

Curtis and Cassie brought out the best in each other, giving each other strength and honesty that gave them the confidence for a relationship.

Bad For You

The story was filled with romance but there was also a lot of time spent building a friendship and Sean’s healing. There was definite slow burn but when these two decide to be together though, it was epic.

Exes with Benefits

Exes With Benefits is a second chance romance about a married couple where we meet Canaan Ford and Maggie Church.

Thrive

This was a great second chance romance, filled with heartache, healing and suspense. Jeremy and Mira find love again after being apart for seventeen years.

The Bitterroot Inn

This is the final book and overall it has been a great series filled with small-town charm, filled with swoon worthy men and strong female characters. This one is about Maisy and Hunter.

Sex, Not Love

Natalia Rossi and Hunter Delucia meet at both of their best friends Anna and Decklan’s wedding, where she is the maid of honor and he is the best man.

Midnight Blue

This was filled with plenty of angst, slow burn and many twists that you had to keep reading. This is a great rockstar romance and one of my favourite of the genre.

Three Blind Dates

This was a sweet read and I loved the influences of You’ve Got Mail as it is one of my favourite movies.

Makeup Favourites for 2017

This year has been a very good year for makeup. My goal is to ultimately go all natural with my cosmetics after reading about all the harmful ingredients in a lot of my favourite products. I have found a few good brands like Wild Nature and Nude by Nature that offer the types of products I want and happen to be Australian which is an added bonus.

But because I own a lot of makeup this will be a slow transition but for now I want to use a lot of my makeup up and still enjoy many of these products. I have come across my perfect foundation for the year but many of the products are products I have loved for a while. I have broken everything down into face, cheeks, eyes and lips to make everything easier.

Products I used up in 2017

My goal for 2017 was to use the products I already have instead of buying anything new. I have a lot of makeup, so I still find it exciting when I finish a product. Something that I have become aware of recently is the ingredients and the harmful chemicals used in cosmetics. Therefore, it’s my intention to eventually convert to all natural (or as much as I can) makeup and skincare, along with other household products. But before I can do this, I want to use up what I already have.

I haven’t bought a lot of makeup in 2017 as I have put myself on spending ban- unless if it’s something I need or ran out of (or if it’s really pretty or limited edition). Because I haven’t bought a lot, I have used up a lot of products. I have kept most of my makeup empties (I’m sure there have been some that I have missed).
