Title: How to Date a Douchebag- The Failing Hours
Author: Sara Ney
Rating: 4.5 stars
“Zeke Daniels isn’t just a douchebag; he’s an asshole.”
This was my favourite of the series, I just loved Zeke and Violet so much.
Zeke is the guy in the group that comes across as a big jerk to his friends and would never find himself in a relationship. But he is so much more than the asshole that he comes across as. He has such a big heart, he just needed the right person to bring out that side of him. This is where Violet comes in.
Violet is a such a sweet, kind and quiet kind of girl. She is a tutor, Zeke’s tutor in fact. Zeke and Violet don’t get off to the best start but with time they develop a friendship of sorts. That friendship turns into something more than they could have ever expected.
“The more we’re together, the more I like you. Have you heard the phrase ‘peeling back the layers’? You know, like an onion. I feel like I’m finally starting to see what’s under that cool demeanor of yours, one layer at a time—and I’m starting to like the layers.”
Zeke is the kind of character that initially you don’t particularly like but once you discover more about him, he is totally redeemable. He and Violet truly made the perfect pair. I loved watching them grow together and they had amazing chemistry.
Overall, it was funny, sweet and emotional, making it a fantastic romance.
