Title: Murder on the Orient Express
Author: Agatha Christie
Rating: 4 stars
This is my second Agatha Christie and the first novel where I went in not knowing what to expect (I previously read And Then There Were None having already seen the miniseries). I really enjoyed watching the mystery unfold and it kept me guessing right to the end. Plus I also finished reading the book literally ten minutes before I saw the movie in the theater.
Poirot is a famous detective and he is currently on holiday until it gets called into work. Thus cutting his trip short, he ends up travelling on the Orient Express. After midnight, the train is stopped due to a snowdrift and someone is discovered dead- being stabbed multiple times.
Therefore, Poirot must discover who the murderer is, before they escape the confines of the train. You are given clues all throughout the story and connections are found the further you read. The story comes together very cleverly and it all fits together like a puzzle piece. The ending was something I definitely wasn’t expecting.
