Title: The Brave Line
Author: Kate Stewart
Rating: 2.5 stars
Michelle moved from California to get a fresh start and is now working as a dispatcher for the Charleston police. Most of the time she loves her job especially when she gets to see one specific cop, Sargent Randall “Rowdy” Owen Day. They share a mutual attraction but because of his job, Rowdy can’t find himself committing to a relationship. However sparks fly and they can’t keep their hands off each other.
Michelle and Rowdy grow closer as friends and eventually develop deeper and real emotions for the other. However it’s not smooth sailing for this stubborn couple and it takes them a long time to accept their feelings.
Overall for me the book was just okay. I didn’t connect with the characters or their relationship and often found myself just wanting to get the book over with and feeling a little bored. This is just a preference thing as I didn’t really think there was anything wrong with the book. The writing was fine and none of the characters were annoying but even still I just didn’t really like it. I have noticed a change in what I like to read and this book just didn’t do it for me and was left quite disappointed.
