Book Review: The Cad and the Co-Ed

Title: The Cad and the Co-Ed

Author: L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid

Rating: 3.75 stars

When Eilish Cassidy (cousin of Sean) is nineteen when she meets Bryan Leech and they spend a night together. Only to find the next day that Bryan doesn’t remember who she is as he was drunk at the time. Eilish, thinking that their encounter was something special ends up devastated only to find out later that she is pregnant.

Skip to five years later Bryan has changed and is now two years sober. Eilish is back in Ireland with her four year old son Patrick and is preparing to start a new job as a training physiotherapist on the rugby team with Sean and Bryan. Eilish knows she will see Bryan again but nothing really prepares her for when she does. Bryan doesn’t remember her but finds himself instantly attracted.

Bryan likes Eilish but hasn’t been in a relationship since he stopped drinking and has trouble believing he is worthy. Eilish is confused but ultimately she has always had strong feelings towards Bryan. Eventually Eilish tells Bryan that he has a son after much persuasion from Sean and her own guilt for keeping it a secret. Bryan is confused albeit happy about the news and is eager to from a relationship with Patrick.

Bryan wants to prove himself that they can be a family but Eilish doesn’t trust easily so they both must work to build a foundation to their relationship.

I liked this book but probably wasn’t my favourite of the series but I like how both authors write. I’m not sure if there are any books in the series but I would love to see a book about William.
